SQL Server 7.0 includes significant changes to improve its scalability, performance, and ease of use. To achieve these changes, Microsoft went back to the drawing board and made substantial improvements to the software's core database engine. This month, Windows NT Magazine takes a close look at several of SQL Server 7.0's new features, including improved data warehousing and OLAP support, enhanced data access, new tools and wizards for performing day-to-day administrative tasks, and support for the Windows 9x platform.
