Dear Members,

Presently we have Win XP Open License and in almost all of our PC's we use it. ONE windows key is all we have as it is open license. Now coming to Windows 7, when most of laptops we buy today come with with Win 7 home edition x64 pre installed. Home edition can not be joined to Windows domain so we buy Win 7 home to Win 7 pro upgrade license for each of the laptop.

In this way we have 'n' number of upgrade keys if we have 'n' number of laptops. keeping record of all those keys is difficult, I need to know is there any open license available for upgrade to win 7 pro from home using the same licensey key every time.

I hope my question is clear, if any doubts please let me know.

Thanks,
Wajeeh

I don't believe there is, but to be sure, you should contact the MS licensing rep from whatever retailer you purchase your MS software from.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me
