Forgot/lost windows Vista password? Now it is not so troublesome to people, you can see this article, it tells you how to reset Windows Vista password with several methods.

Take it easy. Now I collect three solutions to help you solve this problem. What you have to do is prepare a blank USB/CD drive.

Solution 1: Use a Vista password reset disk.

You could easily create a Windows Vista password reset disk through Vista's control panel with a USB flash drive.

1. Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safely -> User Accounts.

2. Create a password reset disk on the left pane.

3. Click “Next”, follow the forgotten password Wizard to create a Vista password reset disk.

On the logon interface with incorrect password, click the reset password link and there will be wizard. Now you can recover Windows Vista password with the created password reset disk on your PC within seconds.

Solution 2: Use free Vista password recovery tool

There are two popular tools: Ophcrack and Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. The former which is based on rainbow tables will spend you much precious time to download but just can reset passwords less than 14 characters. The latter supports Windows NT/2000/XP, but not AD password recovery.

Step 1: Download the correct Ophcrack LiveCD ISO File.

Step 2: Now that the Ophcrack LiveCD ISO image is downloaded, you should burn it to a disc so you can use it.

Step 3: Insert the Ophcrack Live CD disc you just burned into your optical drive and then restart your locked PC.

Step 4: Wait while the the operating system on the Ophcrack LiveCD starts automatically.

Step 5: Wait will SliTaz Linux loads drivers and other necessary software in preparation for Ophcrack.

Step 6: Watch for Hard Drive Partition Information to Display.

Step 7: Wait while the Ophcrack software attempts to crack/recover your Windows password.

Step 8: Logon To Windows With the Ophcrack LiveCD Recovered Password.

Solution 3: Professional Vista Password Recovery Software

Windows password recovery programs are software tools designed to reset/delete your password or recover the old password itself. Windows Password Rescuer, with this software, you can easily login your PC by burning a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive.

Why would the tools be so popular for PC users? That’s because the tools do not require special PC technique or skills. Users can quickly get out problem within 10 minutes. Just about four steps:

Step 1: Download Windows Password Rescuer and install it to another computer.

Step 2: Run it and burn it to a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive. Before this confirm that you have inserted a CD/DVD or USB.

Step 3: BIOS setting: Setup your own computer boot from CD or USB. Press F2 or DELETE when you start/restart your PC to get into the BIOS SETUP list. Use arrow keys to select boot menu, and use +/- key to move the CD/DVD or USB option to the first boot site. Then insert the CD/DVD or USB you have just created. Press F10 to save and exit.

Step 4: Reset Windows password: Wait for a moment, it will display friendly operate window, and you can reset whichever password on it. Then remove the disc from the drive and restart your computer you can access your computer again.

Additional *** solutions:
1. Reset your forgotten password with Windows install cd.

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...us;306214&
1. Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your XP CD is bootable – as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)

2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be “Press any key to boot from cd”

3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now

5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.

6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.

It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”

Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.

7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.

8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. (this will happen automatically – you will see a progress bar stating “Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds”

9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of “pressing any key” to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is highlighted.

10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.

11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.

12. Now simply pick the account you need reset windows password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for password. After you’ve made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair (have your Product key handy).

13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.
