monitoring software

We immediately have a need for software which monitors file access. Most interested in software which will report files copied , uploaded to email. I have been looking at some of the latest software that comes up in google search. Most of it seems to be concerned with monitoring internet usage and IM activity. I am looking for software which will tell me about accessing files on network, via smb or ftp and download and move and making easy to follow reports of the activity. I'll keep looking for and trying software , but I hope someone here has similar needs.

Have you looked into enabling object access auditing for the file stores in question?
