I am trying to connect to a wireless network that uses the EAP type PEAP. After configuring the network settings Windows will not connect. It hangs on "acquiring a network address". You never receive the pop up balloon that directs you to click it in order to enter your login credentials. You do not even get an error message saying that Windows could not find a certificate.

The configuration settings are exactly the same as they are for another machine that can connect successfully. The machines are running on Windows XP SP2. I have listed the settings below, if anyone has any idea please let me know. I can connect using the same credentials on another machine so this is not an ID issue.

Network authentication: WPA2
Data encryption: AES
EAP type: PEAP
Authentication method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2). Does not connect with Windows user name and password
Trusted Root Certifcate: http://www.valicert.com

Have you tried hard coding an IP address in the appropriate range to see if that fixes the problem?
