A. Microsoft doesn't ship Windows 2003 with NetBEUI and doesn't support the protocol in the OS. However, if you require NetBEUI, you can install the version supplied on the Windows XP installation CD-ROM in the \valueadd\msft\net\netbeui subfolder. Copy the nbf.sys file into the \%systemroot%\system32\drivers directory, copy netnbf.inf into the \%systemroot%\inf\ directory, then open network connection properties and click Install to add NetBEUI.

    Had similar security issues as several ppl here, and found a fix to the "access denied" problem.

    Changing these settings in Domain Controller security
    Local Policies -> Security Options ->
    "Microsoft Network Client: Digital Sign Communications" Disabled
    "Microsoft Network Server: Digital Sign Communications" Disabled
    this applies to both the "(Always)" and "(if server/client agrees)".

    HOWEVER, an network operation that took 15 seconds with Windows 2000 WS, takes 5 minutes completing with the Windows 2003SBS server.

    Anyone had similar issues, and found a solutions ?

    Within the 2003 server enable Netbios over TCP/IP. In OS/2 MPTS Network Adapters add the protocol IBM OS/2 Netbios over TCP/IP, change the Netbios number to 1, set TCP/IP and IBM OS/2 Netbios over TCP/IP to 0.

    Modify the ibmlan.ini file..
    [networks]
    net1=NETBEUI$,1,LM10,100,121,14
    net2=TCPBEUI$,0,LM10,100,121,14

    Hopefully I will get someone with a solution to my problem.
    We have some OS2 ver 3 systems working with an NT server.
    We want to upgade to Server 2003. I have a new server, loaded 2003 and also loaded NetBUIE on it.
    When the OS2 tries to connect to the server it comes up with passord error. I know th password is correct.
    Any ideas what it could be the reason?
    Thanks
