Once you install SP1 (Service Pack 1), or greater, on Windows Server 2003, the /UP switch becomes available to NTBackup.exe, the Windows backup.

The /UP causes Windows backup to prompt you to insert an additional tape if needed during the backup job, AND will automatically proceed when the new tape is available.

The /UP switch also works very well with your tape library (changer) that holds several tapes, providing the time needed for the changer to automatically mount the next tape before the backup automatically proceeds.

NOTE: The /UP switch is case-sensitive and must be typed in uppercase characters.
