Q: I'm trying to connect my laptop to the TV in my hotel room via HDMI, but the Input button on the TV doesn't work to switch signal. What can I do?

Hi have found in hotels that some large screen tvs use a special remote control to hook in to the hotels systems. I can plug in HDMI from my laptop, but the remote does not switch to any other HDMI. It may be that you have to locate the manual source/volume buttons on the TV itself, effectively not using the supplied remote control. Plug in HDMI from your laptop (you did bring a cable did not you?) and select the correct hdml device using manual buttons. You can then use HDMI as an extended screen on your laptop.
