Hi Ben! THIS IS A SPAM DEMO!

END CALLOUT C

Guess what!
Just OPENING a SPAM e-mail message will result in you getting more SPAM!

BEGIN CALLOUT D
END CALLOUT D Spam is a nickname for unsolicited e-mail advertisements.

Did you know that just opening a spam message usually results in you receiving more unsolicited e-mail?
Here’s why...

Most spam is transmitted using formatting that causes Outlook (and other e-mail clients too!) to make connections back to web servers on the internet right as you open the message!

The connection includes a reference to identify you, usually your e-mail address or a number linked to your e-mail address in a database. When the web server processes the connection it acts as a signal to tell the spammer that they enticed you to open the message. This information is used for "marketing" purposes so they can target other messages and advertisements to you, and often these lists of "confirmed" addresses are sold to others. They got you to read one message, maybe they can get you to read more!

To prove the point, we used the same technique in this message. Look in your inbox! You have ten more messages waiting :-) They were sent because you opened this one :-(

Don't open spam, just delete it!
