Get a Grip on Your Datahttp://www.windowsitpro.com/article/news2/get-a-grip-on-your-data#commentsAnchorTue, 22 Feb 2005 14:57:00 GMT
"...to wait out whatever remains of the 7-year retention period that the government recommends for personal records..." The 7 year retention period is a myth. If you are talking about records related to your tax return the IRS has 3 years in which to audit you, 6 years to audit you if you they suspect you of fraud and they have an unlimited amount of time to look at your records if they suspect that you are trying to criminally defraud the government. There are over 3500 federal regulations related to records retention and recordkeeping. on the whole very few of these requirements affect individuals. If you are interested in learning more about records retention I suggest that you visit the website for ARMA International. www.arma.org as they are the professional association for records managers. Information Lifecycle management is not new, records managers have been implementing the same thing for years, we just call it the records lifecycle or the records continuum a professional records manager]]>

Me too, agree with snowdon. Why not add a separate entry for IT staff working in Europe or Asia in your surveys? I am going to apply for the Green card now, after reading these surveys’ results! :)]]>

Why is it US only? I subscribe and read Window IT Pro Magazine here in Norway! Why can’t you include Europe too? You could even add a €uro conversion tool without too much fuss!]]>
