Great article on the basics, but what avenue would you pursue to roll out 5000 XP clients in an NT environment with roaming profiles. I would like to use mandatory profiles for the new XP clients, but I must at the same time maintain the availability of the NT Profile for clients that will roam from an NT PC to an XP PC?]]>

I have used this in NT4, but i can’t get the scrip to load with a Win2K domain controller. I have set the logon script in the user profile and added a policy to load the script on logon, neither of which worked if i execute the script by hand (be it a direct invocationor a batch file) it loads perfectly. Within the profile i have tried script kix32.exe argument logon.kix, kix32.exe logon.kix, logon.bat (which mounts netlogon, executes the script, then unmounts it) and full UNC path (\\servername\netlogon\logon.bat), neither of which worked. I have even enabled synchronised logon scripts.]]>

Very informative I will apply the information for my solution on Monday on a PC where a user is getting a roaming profile every time he logs on.]]>
