Recession and Rebirth: Why IT Matters in Tough Timeshttp://www.windowsitpro.com/article/deployment/recession-and-rebirth-why-it-matters-in-tough-times#commentsAnchorFri, 05 Dec 2008 12:54:00 GMT
Very good article. Timely. First off, IT in business was never optional. In the Middle ages there "Clarks" who mananged fief and manors for the owners and then tabbed production and reports on Rods. I guess that’s where we get the expression "the short end of the stick". A good Clark was sought after and often worked for several Land owners. Just like Microsoft Dynamics GP, you can have several company databases in the same system for one accounting team to manage, these guys must have had more than a few sticks and different enterprises. So following their success in those "Very Bad Economic times’, it would a good Idea to know how IT is part of business and how it can be used to control , optimize and benefit the business. With that overview, it’ not a time to go out and buy sticks but perhaps follow the lead of many of the writers in this magazine who continue to make themselves of value to businesses and those who make their IT happen.
