Comment to Mebins Comment No chance in a million, even in SQL 2000. It is not planned (says MS_ENG in technet discussion group). So, lets wait and see when reality hits the MS_LABS. I have a similar problem, I need to publish in a merge repl, a table where some of my offices should see only part of the available columns, so I create another table that I feed through DTS. The column is required and then I repl that table, but let me tell you it’s a real drag. Good luck and I hope the table you need to change is a small one (lesser 500MB). Otherwise forget VPN, the net, and everything beyond a physical LAN connection. Brgds, Werner]]>

I have just implemented a replication similar to the one you have written about. My one comment is that once you have set up the replication (publication), you are NOT allowed to make any changes to the database tables. You need to stop the publication for that database, make your changes, then create the Publication all over again. Is there a way to eliminate this process? Thanks, Metin.]]>
