Help Wantedhttp://www.windowsitpro.com/article/development/help-wanted#commentsAnchorMon, 12 Dec 2005 11:30:56 GMT
How about setting realistic & reasonable expectations. Just because a manager snaps his fingers at a recruiter with a wish list, doesn’t mean he can get someone that has the latest & greatest expertise with everything on the list. & for heavens sake, stop with the “on a scale of 1 to 10” questions. Try this, on a scale of 1 to 10 how well do you know the ABC? OK, name the 10th letter, 17th letter,,,. Get my point? It’s a trick question with no good answer. All it does is throw off the poor guy who’s struggling to get a job. It takes more to give an interview than knowing to ask the old useless & meaningless questions like where do you want to be in 5 years from now, why do you want to work here, on a scale of 1 to 10 ------ Also, if I’ve done something 2-3 years ago, I will put it on my resume even though I may not be so current with it, & that does not make me a liar.]]>
