This on-line version of the article is missing "Step 5: Tune Performance Warning Rules" and the conclusion "Stay Ahead of the Performance Curve" that appear in the printed version.]]>

A handful of people ran into a permissions problem where the remote SPA data collector could not write to the shared Transfer folder on the Report machine. See http://www.gilsblog.com/index.cfm?commentID=96 for a description of the problem and the solution]]>

Diagnose AD Performance Problemshttp://www.windowsitpro.com/article/ldap/diagnose-ad-performance-problems#commentsAnchorTue, 19 Dec 2006 12:22:56 GMT
Try printing it again next time you’re at this site. We’ve made some changes and hopefully it’ll print out better for you. I tried it and it worked okay for me. If you try or someone else tries and it still doesn’t work, could you go to our Forums section of our site and lodge a complaint either in the Off Topic area or actually any area? That way a Forum pro can get word to the editors and/or the Web team. Thanks!]]>

It might have been a good article, but when printing it from the "Printer Friendly" mode, it’s simply too small to be legible.]]>

Authentication Topologyhttp://www.windowsitpro.com/article/dns/authentication-topology#commentsAnchorThu, 15 Jan 2004 11:24:38 GMT
Gil Kirkpatrick’s "Authentication Topology" (March 2003, http://www.winnetmag.com, InstantDoc ID 37935) was a great article. I am planning to use the ability to hide a domain controller (DC) from everyone (except for replication with the globally unique identifier—GUID—CNAME) to implement a replication site for disaster recovery. The article came in very handy.]]>

Great article! One technical issue: ’To do so, set all the mnemonics except DcByGuid, which controls publication of the SRV record that other DCs use to find replication partners.’ But isn’t rather DsaCname needed? At least my test showed you can’t do without it, whilst not registering DcByGuid is common practice.]]>

This article provides an excellent look at the AD authentication process from a DNS point of view, especially from a multiple site, hub & spoke point of view.]]>
