How can I erase files from a CD?

A. If your CD is a CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) disc, perform the following steps to erase files:

  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. On the CD-RW disc, select the files/folders that you want to erase.
  3. From the CD burning tasks, select Erase files on CD-RW (if your CD isn't erasable, this option isn't available).
  4. The system displays the Erase dialog box and deletes the files.
  5. After the system deletes all the files, it writes a notification to the notification area (the right part of the Task Bar, where the time appears).

    To have this suggestion come up in answer to a
    "Windows 2K cd erase" is worthless
