A basic principle of SCSI says that a SCSI bus requires correct electrical termination at both ends in order to function properly. Proper termination ensures that the signal travelling down the SCSI bus doesn't reflect back, a situation that cause a variety of problems including "ghosted" SCSI devices, data errors, and other anomolies. Unfortunately, termination is implemented differently from SCSI device to SCSI device (some use jumpers, some use removable terminating resistor packs, others use...

The article is useful, but poses more questions that it answers:

- What is passive termination, how is it performed, and why is active termination better?
- In situations where internal and external devices are attached to the host adapter (HA), termination must be off (disabled). Why? I found
the answer elsewhere, but the article should briefly explain why termination should be disabled in this case.

I realize that SCSI can be a *very* complex topic,
but a larger overview of the topic (or pointers to other information sources) would have helped.

Any chance of making the font larger? I don't want to lose my near sight any sooner than nature intended. Thanks.

The article was good as i have mentioned earlier but i want to know about the termination adapter.

Is there any type of Additional hardware is required for SCSI chain termination with the Platform of MAC in any case.
