A: Although the Hyper-V team doesn’t have specific guidance for SQL Server and Exchange, the SQL Server and Exchange teams have released guidance on virtualizing their services on Hyper-V and on any hypervisor that’s part of the Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP). This includes VMware's ESX and Citrix XenServer.

The Exchange 2010 virtualization guidance can be found at the Microsoft website in the Hardware Validation section.

The SQL Server virtualization guidance can be found at Microsoft’s Planning, Implementing and Supporting SQL Server Virtualization with Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V and Live Migration” web page.
