Although next week might belong to the long-awaited movie, "Star Wars: Episode III," this is clearly the week for Xbox 360 hype, which is reaching unprecedented heights with daily leaks and revelations about key system features. Last night, the actual specifications of the new system were leaked to the Internet, and the Xbox 360 is looking like a formidable machine.

Allegedly powered by a custom 3.2GHz IBM PowerPC microprocessor with three symmetrical cores, the Xbox 360 will also include 512MB of RAM and a custom ATI video processor with 10MB of embedded DRAM. The Xbox 360's optical drive will support all the current major formats, including DVD video, DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W, CD-ROM/R/RW, Windows Media Audio (WMA) CD, MP3 CD, JPEG Photo CD-ROM, and more.

All Xbox 360 video games will support 1280 x 720 (16:9, 720p) and 1920 x 1080 (16:9, 1080i) displays with full anti-aliasing. These modes equate to the two most popular HDTV resolutions and will work natively on today's HDTV sets. Xbox 360 will also work fine with standard definition (SD) sets, however, and will supposedly convert the video to the proper resolution and quality level on the fly.

The Xbox 360 console sports three standard USB ports and will use wireless controllers that will also work with Windows-based PCs. You can connect as many as four wireless controllers at a time. The Xbox 360 will ship Wi-Fi ready and can be upgraded with a 20GB external hard disk that clips to the side of the unit. Xbox 360 will support multichannel surround-sound output.

Microsoft will back the Xbox 360 with a new version of the Xbox Live gaming service, which will be split into two service levels. Xbox Live Silver won't require a subscription fee. Xbox Live Silver users will be able to compete on the Internet with other gamers, for free, on weekends and take advantage of other Xbox Live features. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to compete online every day of the week and access exclusive Gold-level membership benefits, including upgrading existing Xbox Live accounts to the new service.

nintendos revolution will be a much better success
then its previous consoles and its new controller strategy is also a nice job.but we shoudnt bring revolution into the console wars nintendo
    announced
that they have no intention of competing with xbox or ps3.in some ways i admire nintendos doing nowadays gaming has become much focused on visual and graphical experience that gameplay is less noticed thats what caused this whole next gen console war(visual **** like hd and.....).but nintendo has focused more on gameplay experience.and as for wich console is the bestest dont trust what microsoft or sony say for now and wait.for example microsoft was so desperate they released some sort of comparison benchmarks to show that their xbox is better then ps3.another thing is at e3 all those xbox 360s were for show and the demos that were playing were being played on mach g5 systems.(also mach systems have no place in the world of gaming thats what i personally think)

Revolution is going to own X-Box 360 because Microsoft rushed when they created it so it came out november 22 and thats enough time for Nintendo and Sony to copy some of Microsofts ideas. NINTENDO OWNSSSSS F the BOX! F the BOX! F the BOX!

I dont understand why all of you people care, what the **** another system has or does not have... They are all just systems being made to entertain, you guys are the people that suck out all of the fun of gaming. If someone wants to buy a system, let them, and stop ********. I personally have an Xbox 360, I received it for christmas as a gift, but I fully intend to at least TRY the other 2 systems possibly own them, and you dont see me crying. As for all of you that mock the xbox about "crashing", or "melting" here is the downlow, Overheating, melting, all because people dont read the precautions, says right in the First thing you see when you open the box 'Place xbox on a flat hard surface so all 4 feet touch the surface' most people will ignore this, putting it in their carpet, or bed. This is a bad mistake because it blocks ventilation, thus overheating and possibly melting. 2nd Issue.. Crashing, all I have to say is that the crashing happens in less than 3% of all released systems, fortunately, not mine, but there is this chance that **** like that will happen with your 'PowerPc' ****, its all the same, computers are stupid sometimes, that is the main point. Im done now, and I look forward to playing the Future Next Next-Gen consoles.

When the nintendo revolution comes out it possibly might put nintendo back to the top. Xbox 360 is retarded *** all S**T. I've played an xbox 360 before, game was call of duty 2, Graphics weren't very impressive. If you buy a computer today made for gaming and buy Call of duty 2 (If possible) the graphics on the computer would most likely be better. LCD Computer monitor can already produce High quality graphics. The only way to make use of the graphics is by having an HDTV capable of 1080i. but it doesn't matter cause most of the games are made only in 720p unless it's really short then they might have enough memory left on the disc to make it in 1080i. Revolution's controller completely the coolest thing ever. I think when ever PS3 and nintendo revolution come out they will take control of the gaming market and Xbox will be no more! HA! HA! Mother F***ING HA!

"F THE BOX! F THE BOX!F THE BOX! F THE BOX!F THE BOX! F THE BOX!F THE BOX! F THE BOX!" That's what i would say.

When the nintendo 64 was out people said it was better than playstation and they said gamecube was gonna be better than playstation 2 but it ended up being crappier. Playstation made a comeback so what is to say it wont happen again with nintendo making a comeback with the revolution
