You can set Microsoft Outlook to process read and delivery receipts on arrival (by selecting the option from Tools, Options, E-mail Options, Tracking Options), but Outlook might not do the processing until your system has been idle for a while. If you're in a hurry, you can open the receipts to cause the responses to appear immediately on the Tracking tab of the original item in the Sent Items folder.

Tim, the problem might be that receipts from outside don't arrive with a special message class. Add the Message Class field to your Inbox view to investigate.

I'm having the same problem. The only read receipts that are processed are the ones from other people within the company.

How can I sent nondelivery message(REPORT.IPM.NOTE.NDR)?

This article does not address when Outlook 2k Read Receipts Do Not Process at all:
I have recently switched from the O2k IMO setup to the CW setup (OS W2k) and subsequently almost all requested read receipts have stopped processing into the original associated sent email. I can find no info on the web associated with this bug.

Does anyone have a clue how to force the read receipts to process?

My own test read receipts for emails sent back to myself actually do process as do the Outlook Sys Admin Delivery receipts for Faxes, but almost no other Read Receipts will process.

Help?

PS I prefer the CW (Corporate Workgroup) set up to IMO (Internet Mail Only) as the fax feature works.
