To resolve this problem:
1. Use the Registry Editor to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters\SysVol.
2. If the above key exists, delete it.
3. Open a CMD prompt.
4. Type net stop ntfrs and press Enter.
5. Type net start ntfrs and press Enter.
