I've heard that you can directly execute various Windows 2000 functions and wizards if you know the proper DLL and the function name. Can you shed some light on this trick?

You heard right. Win2K uses several wizards and functions that are accessible by GUI only through other utilities and dialog boxes. However, you can directly access these utilities.

To access the tools directly, use rundll32.exe and give the appropriate .dll file and function name as arguments in the Rundll32 command line. Table 1 lists some of my favorites, along with the command line you need to run them. Note that the command-line text is case sensitive.
