UNIFIED MESSAGING SOLUTIONS
Handspring's Treo 180 captured 34 percent of the vote to win the Readers' Choice Award for Best Unified Messaging Solutions. Treo 180 integrates mobile phone, text messaging, wireless email, and Web browsing capabilities with a Palm OS organizer—all in a small, lightweight device.

With Treo, you can trade short text messages with acquaintances that use GSM phones or Internet email accounts, and by using Treo's boilerplate messages and quick addressing, short messaging becomes optimally quick and easy. You can also browse the Web and make secure electronic financial transactions on the go with Handspring's Blazer 2.0 mobile browser. Treo Mail, Handspring's server-based email solution, enables full access and interaction through chosen POP3 email accounts (Internet Edition) or accounts located behind a corporate firewall (Corporate Edition) for a monthly fee.

FAX SERVERS
In a close vote, GFI's FAXmaker for Exchange won the Readers' Choice Award for Best Fax Servers. Runner-up NET SatisFAXtion by FaxBack was only four votes behind.

FAXmaker for Exchange is a native fax connector for Exchange Server, which means that there is no need for a proprietary fax client: Faxes can be sent and received from within the Microsoft Outlook client. This eliminates the need for client software administration as well as end-user training.

FAXmaker eliminates the need for an internal fax user database and relies on Active Directory instead, allowing fax-related settings to be applied to Windows users or groups directly. FAXmaker features include a multi-line fax server, inbound fax routing, print to fax driver for Windows, support for server-based rendering of Office documents, fax management features, and built-in spam filter.

NET SatisFAXtion, first introduced in 1990, immediately struck a chord with organizations by bringing such features as automatic inbound routing, fax broadcasting and client billing features into the fax server arena. Within a short span it became a success and has been the recipient of numerous industry awards. Today, NET SatisFAXtion continues to be a popular solution for everything from small workgroups to global enterprises.
