In another crowded playing field, HP OpenView Operations for Windows took top honors for Best Applications and Operations Management Tool--for the second straight year. Readers continue to value the product's ease of use, stability, and efficiency.

HP OpenView Operations for Windows is event-management software that provides proactive performance monitoring, automated alerting, reporting, and graphing for Windows, Linux and UNIX systems, middleware, and applications. The product lets you exert control over your heterogeneous IT infrastructure and lets you link that infrastructure to your business services, so you know where you need additional IT resources and where you've over-provisioned. You can use either a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in or the product's Web-based GUI for anytime/anywhere management of your environment. Using HP OpenView's Smart Plug-In (SPI) management modules, you get in-depth intelligence for managing key systems and applications, and you can achieve faster problem resolution through links to Microsoft's Knowledge Base, accessible directly from system and application events.
