Wireshark 1.2.0 is out. The new version of this popular packet sniffer includes many new features, including GeoIP integration, a 64-bit Windows installer, and more.

One of the biggest additions is support for numerous new protocols. The list of new protocols is too extensive to list here, so suffice it to say there are a few dozen more than in previous versions.

Other new features include support for Pcap-ng (which is supposed to be the next-generation capture file format) and IP packet comparison capabilities.

And of course there are a load of bug fixes.

Check out the details at the Wireshark Web site.
