Windows &.NET Magazine readers ranked Dell's PowerVault NAS servers at the top of the Network Attached Storage (NAS) category. These systems feature Intel processors and Windows Powered OSs and provide high-performance, expandable storage for small to midsized businesses, remote offices, and departments or workgroups with- in large enterprises. Setup requires as little as 15 minutes, and Web-based management tools let you remotely manage the systems.

The entry-level PowerVault 725N, which you can use for backing up clients and servers, consolidating storage, or adding incremental storage to your network, includes Pentium 4 processors and ServerWorks' Grand Champion SL core logic technology. The system supports up to 3GB of Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM and provides dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The midrange PowerVault 770N and PowerVault 775N, designed for file sharing, email, multimedia, software distribution, and application server support, can accommodate more than 16TB of storage with the addition of SCSI drives, or more than 40TB with a connection to Dell/EMC Fibre Channel arrays or a Storage Area Network (SAN). Both systems offer I/O slots, redundant power, and embedded remote access management utilities.
