My company has developed a shutdown application that sets video resolution to the settings that we need at the next startup. If we accidentally use the Start menu's Shut Down button, we must set the resolution on boot. How can we eliminate the Shut Down button from the Start menu?

Open your favorite registry editor and go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\Explorer subkey. Add the NoClose value of type REG_DWORD. To remove the Shut Down button from the Start menu, set the value to 1. You can still initiate shutdown by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Your site shows all related information. But i tried to subscribe in to this site i am not able to do. Proper login page has not comming. I too have some questions regarding Registry modifcations. I would like to know, that i am having a Exported registry file. I like to merge these settings at the startup time of the login through command prompt. For that i used " regedit name.reg " this fuses the reg entry to the Corresrponding location. But a Message box is show for the confirmation for each key. How to disable this Message Box. In my application this message box should not come on the screen. Please mail me on this issue.

    Thanks in Advance.
    With Regards,
