I recently read John Savill's FAQ "How can I configure Windows XP to access ATAPI hard disks larger than 137GB?" (http://www.winnetmag.com/article/articleid/26739/26739.html). As in XP, you can edit Windows 2000's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Parameters registry subkey to change the limit. For more information about this registry change, see the Microsoft article "48-Bit LBA Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in Windows 2000" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=305098).

Perfect - fixed my problem. Great to find a site that gives you information without first trying to make you signup to recieve heaps of Spam. I will book mark this site and keep it high on my resource list (and I will even click a couple of your google adsense links).
