A. Vista contains a boot-time Memory Diagnostic Tool that runs a detailed memory test. To initiate it, run Mdsched from the Run dialog box or the command prompt. Doing so will open a dialog box that asks whether you want the test to occur at next reboot or you want to reboot now to run the test.

If you want to select advanced options after the Memory Diagnostic Tool starts, press the F1 key to modify the type of tests and number of times they run. After you finish making configuration changes to the tests, press F10 to start.
