The HP Vectra I used to compare performance of Win95, NT 3.51, and
NT 4.0 in the main article came pre-loaded with EDO RAM. This type of RAM is
supposed to increase system performance by 20 percent, so I tested this theory.
I ran the SYSmark test under Win95, running both the 16MB and 32MB memory points
because the machine came with only 32MB of memory. My results were
disappointing: I saw a 2 percent increase in application performance with EDO
RAM installed. You can see my results in Graph A.
