In response to Getting Started with Windows 2000: "Disk Defragmenter" (October 2001, http://www.winnetmag.com, InstantDoc ID 22244) and Robert Beauchamp's additional suggestion (Reader to Reader: "Reducing Paging File Fragmentation," March 2003, InstantDoc ID 37913), I have an easier method to reduce paging file fragmentation. I use Sysinternals' PageDefrag tool. You can download this free tool, which even defragments registry hives, from http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pagedefrag.shtml.
