Word 97 binary converter for Word 6.0/95 now available

When Word 97 debuted earlier this year, everyone assumed that the "Save as Word 6.0/95" option did just that. Not so: it really saved files in Rich Text Format (RTF). Due to customer complaints, Microsoft has released a patch for Word 97 that corrects this oversight.

Using this patch, Word 97 users can now save documents in true Word 6.0/95 file format, making it easy to share documents with users of previous versions of Word. You can download the patch (638K) now from the Nexus.

For whatever it's worth, I wasn't able to get it to even install on my system, so I can't even verify that it works
