Microsoft announced this week that over one million people have actively downloaded and installed Outlook 98 since it began offering the temporarily free product last month. The free give-away ends June 30th. After that, Outlook 98 will cost about $100. Outlook 98 is Microsoft's latest and greatest email and collaboration client. It replaces Outlook 97, which was included as part of Office 97.

"Our goal with Outlook 98 was to take e-mail to the next level by providing an incredibly powerful combination of great Internet e-mail support and integrated information management," said George Meng, group product manager for Microsoft Office. "From the incredible number of downloads that we've already experienced and numerous rave reviews, it's exciting to see confirmation that we're delivering on that goal.
