There's not a person in the IT industry who hasn't daydreamed about what it might be like to sit in the CEO's chair at Microsoft. (Except Steve Ballmer, of course. He's already sitting there.)

So we decided to ask some Connections 2008 attendees what they would do in the same situation as part of our "If I Ran Microsoft..." video contest. Here are a few of the more interesting suggestions taken from the WinConnections show floor:

"If I ran Microsoft, I'd change the help. Right now I don't find it very helpful! We need more examples of code." -- Jim Davis

"If I ran Microsoft, I'd go back to the command line and stop using the GUI interface!" -- Anonymous

"If I ran Microsoft,I'd sell it, quit, and retire!" -- Matt Dobson

"If I ran Microsoft, I'd discontinue Vista!" -- Anonymous

"If I ran Microsoft, I'd reboot!" -- Melissa

Check out the clip below for more suggestions from IT pros taken at the first day of the WinConnections conference.

The "If I Ran Microsoft..." video contest runs from October 20 to December 31, 2008. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be chosen by editors from Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine.

Absolutely dump Vista - then dump that idiot Ballmer and finally dump Microsoft Arabia. The number of brain cells in that organisation total 0!
    Absolute rubbish!
