A. If version 1 starts after you install Windows Movie Maker 2, perform the following steps:

  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the \%systemroot%\RegisteredPackages{60BFF50D-FB2C-4498-A577-C9548C390BB9} folder (where %systemroot% is the root of your Windows installation). The folder contains three files.
  3. Copy the three files to the \%programfiles%\movie maker folder (where %programfiles% is your Program Files folder).
  4. Click Yes to overwrite the files.
  5. Navigate to the \%programfiles%\movie maker folder.
  6. Right-click mm20ex.inf, then select Install from the context menu.
  7. Run moviemk.exe to start Windows Movie Maker 2.

As the FAQ says, you navigate to \\%systemroot%\\RegisteredPackages\\{60BFF50D-FB2C-4498-A577-C9548C390BB9} folder (enter this path in the Explorer address bar). If this method doesn't work for you, let me know and I'll contact the author about it.

I made a big mistake with windows movie maker 2. I deleted all the Collection's folders and now the program wont start and I can't get it to reinstall itself correctly without installing service pack 2 all over again. With my luck if I install service pack 2 again my computer won't work right. Does anyone know the folder layout for this program? Maybe I can just make new folders and replace them and then try to install the movie maker program again from an EXE file that I got off the internet. Write to darkintruder98@hotmail.com with any comments. Thank you.
