Intel Delays Next-Gen Itanium, Cancels Xeon Version
Responding once again to competitive threats from AMD, microprocessor giant Intel has scrapped its previous plans for server chips, delaying three versions of the next-generation Itanium and canceling a future Xeon revision. Intel representatives attribute the Itanium delay to quality problems. But analysts say that AMD is making headway in the server market with its 64-bit Opteron chips, with which Intel wasn't effectively competing. Read the entire article at the following URL:

Forum reader SmallGreen is having a problem with offline files. Some users had offline files enabled on their home folders when the server died. He brought up another server but with a different name. Now users get a synchronization error stating the machine wasn't able to synchronize with these shares.
