802.11a/b/g Wireless NIC. Linksys won a close race for this award with its Wireless-G PC Card with SpeedBooster. You can install this card in most desktop and tower PCs, then place your computer almost anywhere in the building without the cost and hassle of running network cables. The Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster incorporates the next generation of the 802.11g standard. In standard Wireless-G mode, the card can connect to wireless networks at 54Mbps, but with the SpeedBooster technology enabled, real-world wireless network performance increases by up to 35 percent. SpeedBooster gives you an overall speed improvement even when you're running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular 802.11g devices.
