Q. My PDF, TIF, and many other files just show the generic application thumbnail icon instead of a thumbnail showing the data within. How can I fix this?

A. If you want to enable thumbnails for a wide variety of file types, I recommend the free Mystic Thumbs utility. The utility's site notes that it can enable thumbnails for "PhotoShop documents, Targa images, DirectX game textures, and many others in Windows Explorer."
