A. No, the supported upgrade paths to Windows 7 will be from Windows Vista SP1 and later only. For most organizations deploying Windows 7, a clean installation will be the preferred option, and a tool such as the User State Migration Tool can be used to migrate profile and data. Because of the base architecture similarities between Vista and Windows 7, any application or driver that works under Vista should work under Windows 7 thus testing performed under Vista is valid for Windows 7
