How can I add a Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE) instance to Windows Server 2003 Automated Deployment Services (ADS) 1.1?

A. ADS 1.1 added the capability to integrate with WinPE directly, including options to configure devices to boot to WinPE. However, by default, ADS doesn't provide a WinPE environment. To add a WinPE instance, you first add the instance to the ADS repository, which is where ADS stores its WinPE instances. To do so, use the adsrepository command, as follows:


C:\>adsrepository /add PE2005 \\Savdaldc01\Data\OS Images\pe2005

Note that you need to add WinPE environments that are based on Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later (WinPE 2005).
