Do I have to update the Active Directory (AD) schema for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007?

A. There's an AD schema update for SCCM 2007. However, if the schema update isn't done, there's some loss of functionality. The SCCM Network Access Protection (NAP) integration won't function without the schema extension, and a Server Locator Point (SLP) role is required to assign clients to an SCCM site if the AD schema isn't updated.
