Assigning IP Addresses That Don't Appear in the IP Address List

I have five IP addresses on my IIS server, but when I try to assign an IP address to a Web site, not all the IP addresses appear in the IP Address drop-down list on the Web site's Properties dialog box. I've tried rebooting the server and reentering the IP addresses in the server's TCP/IP configuration. How can I assign IP addresses that don't appear in the IP Address drop-down list?

This problem has been around for a long time—I see it regularly on IIS 4.0 machines but infrequently on IIS 5.0 servers. Knowing that you have a valid IP address correctly installed but that it doesn't appear in the drop-down list is disconcerting. The good news is that you can simply enter the valid IP address, even though it's not listed. The bad news is that I know of no way to get the list to reflect all installed IP addresses. The Microsoft article "INFO: All Bound IP Addresses Do Not Appear in IIS MMC Drop-Down List Box" (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us; q297265) might be helpful.
