Winning in a landslide, VMware Workstation 4.5 took the top honors for Best Testing and Debugging Software for the second consecutive year. Reader Antti Venalainen commented that, "This software is the best! Couldn't live without it." Readers like Antti are fond of VMware Workstation for a myriad of reasons, including its ease of use, the ability to quickly create virtual machines (VMs), and its flexibility. "The software can run on any machine," reader Jason Hardy said. "It doesn't require a ton of power to run efficiently."

From a single desktop, developers and systems administrators can use VMware Workstation to develop, test, and debug complex networked server-class applications running on Windows, Linux, or Novell NetWare. Being able to use only one machine improves efficiency and reduces costs--results that readers have experienced firsthand. Reader James Luhring noted that the product "saves us a lot of time and money," whereas reader Erik Campana noted that it has a low total cost of ownership (TCO).
