Nice article, any idea how the GUID for the \\??\\Volume{GUID} is computed ? What i am interested is, in knowing the factors that could influence the change of drive letters assigned to removable storage drives.

I read your article. It is good but i have one problem that my dynamic disk shows as offline. I need win32 api call to reactivate my dynamic disks in programmatically.

Good article...Congrats, but Is there any way to refresh the DynamicDiskGroup configuration from the command line without the use of the MMC Snap-In? With mountvol and linkd you only can create new reparse point but I can't use this option with DynamicDiskGroups.
Veritas LDM is a complex command line interface for this job.
