OnGuard ID builds on Lenel's existing ID technology to integrate public key infrastructure (PKI) with OnGuard ID management functionality. OnGuard ID CredentialCenter provides support for biometrics, including fingerprint and hand template technologies. OnGuard ID CredentialCenter stores biometric templates in the OnGuard Security Server database and downloads them to Lenel Intelligent System Controllers or encodes them onto cardholders' smart cards, eliminating the need for a separate biometric management system.
