How do I enable the feature that warns me if I try to send an email message without a subject line? Does such a feature exist?

The feature you describe doesn't exist, but you can use Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2000 Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code to create it. Take the code that Listing 1 shows and place it in Outlook VBA's built-in ThisOutlookSession module. The Application_ItemSend event handler will display an alert if you try to send a message with a blank subject line.

Those who are not able to execute the code in second attampt try downgrading the Macro security level to medium or low. Do not forget to restart outlook after changing the security level. It should work for you.

This is very helpful. Now, I will never miss the subject line. Thanks.

But can we display the message box in the Mail Window rather than in the Outlook Application. In the soultion provided by you, when we click on the send button then the mail does not go if no suject line. But, the message box does not appear. We can see the message box on going to the main Outlook window.

Thanks.

I tried to put this in and Message Box pops up but it is behind my new e-Mail. I do hear the Message Box pop up but do not see it behing the new message. What do I have to do to see it? I have Windows XP Office XP.

I been searching for this for months. I tried it and it worked, but only once. I entered the code, complied it and saved it. Tested it and it worked. When I tested it again it didn't work. I deleted the code, complied and saved. Closed and reopened Outlook and reentered the code, and it no longer works. Please advice what went wrong.

Thanks

I've tried pasting this code is as you suggested in the article on forcing a reminder for subjects. It will not work to set-up a reminder though. Any thoughts
