March marks the 3-year anniversary for Exchange & Outlook UPDATE (originally Exchange Administrator UPDATE). In March 1998, we began our invasion of your inbox and have been adding to the subscription list ever since. Currently, I have the pleasure of reaching almost 80,000 of you each week, and I always appreciate your comments, feedback, and war stories. This week, I want to gather more information about who you are by posing some questions about you and your Exchange deployments. I hope to learn more about you as the audience so I can tailor the Exchange Edition of Exchange & Outlook UPDATE content to meet your needs. Below are my questions and a place where you can respond.
Questions:
- What is your role? Are you an Exchange administrator/system manager, consultant, or developer?
- Are you a Microsoft Joint Deployment Program (JDP) customer?
- Do you regularly attend Microsoft's Tech Ed or Exchange Conference?
- What version of Exchange Server do you currently run?
- If you are running Exchange5.5, are you running it on Windows 2000?
- If you are running Exchange 5.5, when do you plan to migrate to Exchange 2000?
- Is your Windows 2000 Account/Domain migration completed yet?
- What key deployment and operational concerns do you face in your Exchange deployment?
- Do you provide wireless messaging to your users? If so, how?
- Do you plan to deploy Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server?
- What type of content do you prefer in Exchange UPDATE: how-to, tutorial, editorial/opinion, other?
- Would you prefer to see Exchange UPDATE in HTML or text format (or a choice of either)?
I encourage you to take a moment to send us feedback on these questions and provide us with other important feedback. As we seek to provide a better e-newsletter, your comments and feedback are vital. Click the link under Reader Comments to post your feedback.
Next week, I discuss Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 migration fundamentals and revisit the various approaches. Again, I thank you for your readership and support over the past 3 years.
