Another new company, Seclarity, plans to debut its product at next month's Networld + Interop show in Las Vegas. Seclarity's SiNic secures desktops through a combination of hardware and software. The hardware component is a network interface card (NIC) that runs a mini OS. The accompanying software is a centralized management console which consists of a database, command service, and GUI. The console allows administrators to create policies which are then pushed out to the NICs to provide firewall capabilities, authentication, access control, network translation, and encryption services.

SiNic currently supports Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP as well as FreeBSD. Seclarity said that in the future intrusion detection, single sign-on, and other capabilities will be added to the SiNic solution.
