Welcome to the We're in IT Blog
My name is Chris Ripkey; I am a Senior Network Engineer with the Penton Media IT Department. I and some of my colleagues are going to write about our experiences with implementing various Technologies throughout our company.

Here are some of the products and technologies that we are currently in the process of implementing within Penton Media:

Window Vista
Office 2007
Exchange 2007 (Upgrade from Exchange 2003 and Lotus Notes Migration)
Office Communications Server 2007
System Center Operations Manager 2007
VMWare

We will cover a wide range of issues, gotchas and whatever roadblocks we encounter while deploying these technologies.

We look forward to sharing our experiences with you and we hope that we can provide some meaningful information to other IT Departments worldwide.

Can you talk about some of the toughest challenges your team is facing re coexistence of the two organizations' Notes and Exchange servers? Are coexistence issues affected the migration in any way?
