In August 1999, Microsoft released an Exchange Server 5.5, post-Service Pack 2 (SP2) hotfix to address a specific Exchange mail-relaying vulnerability. This fix plugged a security hole that let the Internet Mail Service (IMS) relay encapsulated SMTP messages, even if you'd configured the server to prevent relaying.

What is the most recent SP for Exchange 2000 (running on a Win2k Server)? Someone is relaying off of my server and I can't find it. I pass most tests but in a 19-test system I failed 3 of them.

Thanks~

I've corrected my relaying with the said intructions here, but why is it that when I go to www.dnsreport.com it still says that I fail in the open relay test.

Like all the other articles I have found online, your setup only tells how to deal with internal setups and telnetting into the server. Telnetting is blocked and I have many clients that use Outlook Express at home via POP3. So how do I make the changes to secure the system and lock it down without blocking them out? I have full masks in the "Never Route Mail" set to 0.0.0.0 which should block out everyone but it doesn't Can anyone help? Exchange 5.5 sp4 with multiple patches and fixes.
